This conversion kit replaces the standard primary transmission, changing from belts and pulleys to a chain and sprockets kit. This kit is a direct replacement, although with the upgraded 14-tooth front sprocket you will gain an increase in top speed throughout your overall gear ratio, along with the increased durability and strength that you get with using a chain drive over a belt driven transmission.
